First and foremost, let me thank you for viewing my website. My goal is to provide information that will assist you in your real estate endeavors. If you have suggestions on ways to improve what I offer, please email me the information. I welcome your inputs.
I truly believe it is vitally important to establish rapport in a business relationship. To accomplish this, please allow me a few minutes to introduce myself and talk about my real estate background.
I began my real estate career in 1993 while serving on active duty in the world's best Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force in 1995, I started my own company known as Varnes Realty, Inc., Better Homes and Gardens. In my second year, 8 Realtors joined my company. We accomplished things in the real estate industry that made the larger companies take notice. In fact, that year we were the #5 of 50 companies in the county. In August 1999, Charles Commander (the owner of CENTURY 21 Commander Realty, Inc.) approached me about merging our two companies together. From a business and personal viewpoint, it was an offer I couldn't refuse. I became the office manager for Century 21 Commander Realty, Inc., at their eastside office close to Tyndall AFB.
After several years of managing a real estate office, I decided to do what I love the best: Assist Buyers and Sellers with their real estate needs. So, I re-activated Varnes Realty and have an office close to Tyndall AFB. In addition, I am the Broker for Rainier Properties, Inc. I deal mainly with commercial and personal properties of the company owners.
REAL ESTATE BACKGROUND
I received my Real Estate Associate License in 1993 and my Broker License in 1995. Since then I have attended numerous real estate courses and training events. I specialize in several different areas of real estate to include residential, commercial, investment, and condominium ownership. I am proficient with the IRS 1031 Tax Deferred Exchange program. If you own property other than your primary residence, don't sell until you talk to someone about the 1031 Exchange program and what it offers. The tax benefits are tremendous.
I have been recognized by the Bay County Association of Realtors as a "Top Producer" every year I have been in the business. In addition, in 1999, I was the #5 Realtor in the county and the top 3% every year since. We have over 1,400 Realtors in Bay County.
BACKGROUND PRIOR TO REAL ESTATE
I was reared in a small town not far from Panama City called Apalachicola. It is famous for its oysters, various types of fishing, as well as other types of seafood. After high school, I served our great Nation in the best Air Force in the world for 26 years. I retired at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (the highest enlisted grade). My Air Force career offered many opportunities and greatly enhanced my life. My family and I traveled to many places including tours in England, Spain, and Iceland. I know what the terms PCS and TDY stand for.
I have been married to my best friend for over 38 years and we have a wonderful life together. We have two sons and two daughters in law, who we are extremely proud of. Our oldest son, Eddie, is married to Kristl and they have given Rose and I two granddaughters, Macie Rose and Kendal Jo. Eddie and Kristl are employed with the insurance industry and live in Tallahassee. Brian is married to Jill and they live in Pensacola. He is employed with Cortis and is doing quite well. In July 2009, they gave Rose and I our first grandson. Needless to say we are proud grandparents. If I had known grandbabies were this good, I would have had them first.
